    Waipio Observatory

    Waipi’o means curved water in the Hawaiian language, and there is the river runs through the valley, so named after it. As it's called "The Valley of the Kings", and boyhood home of King Kamehameha I, this is the one of the most meaningful, historical and spiritual place in the Big Island.

    This malasada is called best one in the big island, and not only tourist but also local get together everyday. A malasada (Portuguese: malassada, from "mal-assada" = "under-cooked") is a Portuguese confection. What to bring
  • For safety reasons, please wear sneakers and light mountain climbing shoes.
  • In winter, you may feel slightly chilly at night, so please bring something to wear.

  • Depending on the weather, you may not be able to climb the summit of Mauna Kea. If the gate is closed due to bad weather during the tour, you will have to watch the sunset at the foot of Mauna Kea (around 2000m) or the beach, and observe the starry sky at the foot of Mauna Kea (around 2000m).
  • As of May 2020, we cannot see the flowing lava or crater dyed red.
  • The tour schedule may change depending on the season and time of day.
  • The photos taken on the tour are not included in the price and are a guide service. Please note that you may not be satisfied due to individual differences.
  • Seats are limited, so early reservations are recommended.
  • Lunch is not included in this tour. Please complete each before departure.
